What Family Traditions Can Teach You About Your Own Life Purpose

Source: ezinearticles.comI am not much of a baker the rest of the year, but I have created a tradition of always baking cookies, brownies or cake for the first day of school. It gives me something to do with my nervous energy while I am waiting to hear how that all important first day went for my children.
Whether it was sharing in the excitement of their exuberant stories or soothing their worries and fears, I have loved those moments of connection with my children and the tradition of marking the day in some way.
Times are changing, as my son started high school this year and my daughter is away at college. Still, I feel just as excited and nervous for them as I did when they were in grammar school, and I am not willing to end this tradition. For my daughter, I emailed a picture of cookies and milk so she could enjoy them virtually.
For my teenage son, I made a batch of cupcakes. And even though he doesn’t sit down at the table with me to eat his cupcakes and tell me about his day, he seems to get a kick out of the fact that I still carry out the tradition. For me, the baking puts me in the mood for open-hearted listening and connecting with my son in whatever way he is willing to do it.
Knowing your purpose changes nothing; living your purpose changes everything.
Helping people open up to love and express love is one of the most important facets of my life purpose. It is who I am, what I stand for and, I believe, my reason for being. Baking cupcakes and connecting with my kids may be a very simple expression of that purpose, but the deep resonance I feel while doing it is what tells me I am on target.
Traditions can be an important part of expressing your purpose. They can be one of the conduits for touching others in the ways that matter most to you.
It is when you are carrying out purposeful traditions that you feel life has the most meaning, and when you experience flow and synchronicity and feelings of deep fulfillment.
Know your purpose, change your life
If you are like most people and don’t yet know what your specific life purpose is, you can use those moments of fulfillment as clues in your search.
There are many compelling reasons for starting the search for your life purpose. Here are the three most important ones:
1. When you know your life purpose, you will know where to focus your efforts and time and have more motivation for doing so.
2. You will be better at expressing your life purpose than you are at doing anything else. It is what you were created for.
3. You are happiest and most fulfilled when you are on purpose. The reverse is also true. When you’re not expressing your life purpose, it may feel as though you are simply slogging or wandering aimlessly through your life.
Finding your true purpose is a process of deep work meant for those who truly feel compelled to find answers to the big questions of life. Family traditions are just one place to begin opening up the inquiry.
What are the family traditions that you have started and continued? What do they say about who you are?

Making a Mark and Not a Stain – How to Live Out Your Life’s Purpose and Leave a Legacy

Source: ezinearticles.com“The more unlimited you become, the faster you will achieve everything you desire in life.”-Enoch Tan
“The most unlimited ones have the greatest power, freedom and wealth in the world. The more unlimited you want to be, the more unlimited your mind must become…The ultimate enlightenment is to overcome all limitations that get in the way of being, doing and having all that we truly want.”- Enoch Tan
Do you want to make a mark and not a stain? Do you want leave behind a legacy? Do you want to be an inspiration for others? To do these things and much more you need to overcome the self-imposed and other limitations which appear to be holding you back. How do you do this? You need to gradually renew and change your thinking so that you can change your world.
Your reality is simply an outward reflection of what is truly going on in your subconscious mind. Your world is limiting and constricting because your mind is. When you change your mindset you are hacking the matrix of your reality. Remember that movie called The Matrix. I did not, at first, totally understand that the movie was trying to communicate the point that you must first change your thought life before you can change the world around you. The characters in the movie appeared to have no control over their reality until they used the power of their thoughts via a machine. Their thoughts allowed them to overcome every limitation, setback, obstacle and hindrance. They appeared to be invincible. When they no longer used the power of their thoughts, then they were once again mere mortals. When you harness the power of your thoughts by renewing your mind to see things from a Divine perspective (which is not hindered by limitations or barriers) then no one and nothing can prevent you from becoming and achieving what you ought to be. No one will be able to stop you but you.
To paraphrase Enoch Tan, the “most unlimited ones” are able to achieve, accomplish, possess and be more. You leave a mark or impression on this earth when you become unlimited in your thinking and achieve things which others thought were impossible. When you effectively do this, you are then able to leave a legacy of accomplishments that will be an inspiration for all. You become an inspiration and leave a legacy when you refuse to be hindered or stopped by the matrix. You refused to be stopped by the matrix because you decided to change your thinking and explore the possibilities of what you could become.
